# agent-paste.sh: tell your agent where to publish

> Your agent built it and it is stuck in a chat window. agent-paste turns it into a link you can open and share.

Publish agent-built HTML to a stable URL from the CLI or over MCP.

Very early testing. No card. Unclaimed links last 24 hours with scripts disabled; free accounts keep work longer and unlock interactive pages.

## When you'd reach for it

1. **Your agent wrote a research brief or analysis you need to send up.**
   Hand your boss a link, not a 4,000-line chat scroll. It opens in any browser, formatted, no tool of theirs required.
2. **You built something in one agent and the next person lives in another.**
   Publish from Cursor, and a teammate on ChatGPT or Claude reads the work instead of re-deriving it. The handoff carries the files, not a copy-paste.
3. **The agent keeps revising and people already have the link.**
   Everyone you sent it to sees the newest version at the same URL on refresh, with no re-send. One stable link for the whole back-and-forth.
4. **Your agent generated a page that is meant to actually run.**
   A self-contained dashboard or interactive report runs from a safe, isolated origin, so you can open what the agent wrote without standing up a server.

## Publish from a shell

With no account, publish a static page and get a link back in seconds:

```sh
npx @zaks-io/agent-paste publish ./report --ephemeral
```

Log in free once over browser OAuth to keep the work, run JavaScript, and own it:

```sh
npx @zaks-io/agent-paste login
npx @zaks-io/agent-paste publish ./report
```

In a sandbox or SSH session, use device login and keep it running while the human approves the URL and code in their own browser:

```sh
npx @zaks-io/agent-paste login --device-code
```

After login succeeds, run `agent-paste whoami --json` before publishing. Device login needs network access to WorkOS and the API, but no local browser. See [CLI authentication](/docs/cli#remote-login).

Install the CLI on macOS or Linux:

```sh
curl -fsSL https://agent-paste.sh/install.sh | sh
```

Install the CLI on Windows:

```powershell
irm https://agent-paste.sh/install.ps1 | iex
```

Install the agent skill for Claude Code and Codex:

```sh
npx skills add https://github.com/zaks-io/agent-paste/tree/main/skills/agent-paste --agent claude-code codex
```

## Publish from a chat with no shell

Add `https://mcp.preview.agent-paste.sh` as a remote MCP server, sign in free, and the agent publishes, reads, and revises from there. Setup lives in [MCP server](/docs/mcp.md).

## Why the link holds up

1. **One link, opens anywhere**
   Hand it to a person or pass it to another agent. People get a clean View in the browser; agents get an Agent View, structured JSON with the file tree, metadata, and signed per-file URLs, so the next agent reads the work instead of scraping it. One stable Artifact, the same across CLI, MCP, and the dashboard.
2. **Move work between tools that don't talk**
   Work made inside one tool stays walled in: vendor surfaces are auth-locked with no machine-readable way out. agent-paste is the neutral layer between them. An agent in Cursor publishes; a teammate in ChatGPT, or you in a browser, picks it up.
3. **The link stays current, until you cut it**
   Revise the Artifact and the same URL shows the newest Revision on refresh, so there is nothing new to send. Delete it when the handoff is done, or let Workspace Auto Deletion expire it: a handoff, not a vault.
4. **Safe to open what your agent wrote**
   Generated pages are untrusted by construction, so each runs top-level on its own capability origin with private encrypted storage, signed authorization, platform-derived MIME types, and deny controls. The dashboard auth cookie never reaches Artifact hosts.
